A Great Lunch

I love the wind. I went out for lunch today, and it was the perfect day for kite flying. OK, a kite might not make it. It is about 25-35 mph right now. But it is wonderful. I love the way if blow in my hair, and how fresh it feels. I feel like I get a workout though, because it really was trying to blow me away today! When I came back from lunch, there was even a tiny bit of snow and some great sunshine.

Dan and I met at Starbucks for lunch. We have taken to actually bringing our lunch into Starbucks, if we decide to go for drinks. They have never said anything. I go to the local WildOats Market to buy reverse-osmosis filtered water, because the tap water in Indiana tastes like crude. Actually, it tastes like algae. I even had a little bottle of water full of tap for my plant, and it grew algae in it. That was kinda gross because I was using the same water for my tea. Now everything just gets the good stuff. So, today, I ran out of water and I needed to fill my three gallon container. It lasts about 6 days, sometimes less in the summer. So, I fill up my water, and Dan and I went to Starbucks, and had our lunch, and the fates decided that I could have a Toffee Almond Bar. How did the fates decide this? Well, I told Dan that I was going to put my water in the car, and if they had it, I would take one. I can count the points for it. Tonight is going to be a core dinner of South of the Border Chicken and Bean soup and homemade french fries. Really French Bakes, cause they aren't fried. And some fat-free, sugar-free chocolate pudding. I will skip my hot chocolate tonight. Maybe.

Anyway, I found out a secret about Dan. I was so flattered. He is such a sweet guy. We IM each other from work (shhhh!) and I have to use Web IM because I don't use the program at work for work purposes. Anyway, lately, the server has had too many people, and I can't get on until after noon. Dan said to me that he read my blog today. Then he said, "I like to read your blog when you aren't on IM because I feel like then I am still close to you and online with you." Awwww! He misses me!!! He also said, "You have a really engaging style of writing. You are actually a writer with your blog, because you can engage people with your writing." I was actually sort of surprised he read without me asking him too, because he is way more busy than I am, and never really said anything before. And I am a writer in his eyes! Growing up, I always wanted to be a writer! And hopefully he won't be upset that I blogged about it.

So when I go to California, I will have to remember to blog. Even though I call him four times a day. It is only extreme if the other person doesn't want that many phone calls. Really! And I probably will post pictures too.

I love you, Dan!!!

great story Rachel, isn't it nice to get some validation from the one person who means the world to you!? He sounds like a great guy! Keep writing, and we ALL will keep reading. Write about anything and everything, you are a writer, so keep up the good work.

Well, I exaggerate it a little bit. If I called him that much, I wouldn't have Calem time!
